Qwest seems to have got it right this time
The new router arrived (with built-in wireless capability, which means my previous wireless router has now become surplus), and after a quick call to Visi.com to configure it, I'm up and running at full speed again.

It has some quirks and occasionally needs to be rebooted, but the built in wireless is far more powerful and consistent than any of the wireless devices I'd tried previously.

This is my fourth wireless device. The first two were quirky and annoying and constantly needed to be rebooted. The third one just worked, which made me happy.
I haven't tried much with the new one, but my iPad sees it and loaded a test page satisfactorily.
