I've only read Figures of Earth and Jurgen by Cabell but liked them both. I was told, at the time, that those were his best two, so never continued. Still, I visited his library in Richmond, VA, at the university, which was interesting.

Also: Several members of the Albany science fiction club, ASSFS became the James Branch Cabell branch cabal. I don't remember if I was inducted or not...
