Back in 2015, I sprained my foot (not my ankle, my actual foot). It had started to improve and then I ran on it (it was a bona fide emergency) and fucked it up again. It was x-rayed twice so I really was quite confident it wasn't a break, and I stayed off it (you can't really wrap a foot sprain effectively) and limped around and used a cane and bitched a lot.
After MONTHS AND MONTHS I googled "pt exercises foot sprain" and tried the ones I found and my foot was fully better in a week or two.
So -- if you're inclined to stay out of clinics right now if at all possible (I am) my suggestion is that you google up the standard PT for post-sprain ankle rehab and give it a (slow, gentle) try and see if it helps.
