*bleargh* redux

I used to have a recurring problem with sewer drains backing up, until I went to having Ron the Sewer Rat (or Ron Moey's successor) come and clean out the sewer line once a year. But Eric just informed me that the drain backed up tonight, even though it was cleaned out back in April.

So someone is coming tomorrow morning, but in the meantime, I have a bunch of dirty laundry that probably needs to be washed in hot water, whether the clothing in question called for it or not. Eric rescued a good portion of it, but there's still a bunch of damp stuff. I assume that 24 hours or less of dampness won't cause mildew, because I'm really not in the mood to make a late-night expedition to a laundromat.

Sometimes being a homeowner really bites.

Sorry. That's awful.

Mildew won't set in that fast, especially when it's not exceptionally humid. Still, my sympathy.
