Day 1 after cataract surgery

My eye doesn't hurt anymore, other than a minor ache. This part is good. Yesterday I was feeling a rather sharp sting every time I blinked. Also, today I'm feeling awake and reasonably functional.

However, my vision in my left eye is blurry with some double vision and weird artifacts moving around the vision of the outside corner. Visual acuity is about equivalent to my right eye without glasses (-10 diopters or so), only more annonying.

I'm seeing the ophthalmic surgeon this afternoon, where I expect he will tell me things are perfectly normal for this stage of recovery.

I sure hope so.

After his first surgery, Andrew said it looked he had a thick sheet of waxed paper in front of that eye. Took about 4 days to clear up and his vision improved rapidly after that. He isn't around, or I'd ask him if your symptoms sounded familiar.

Best wishes!
