Day 1 after cataract surgery

My eye doesn't hurt anymore, other than a minor ache. This part is good. Yesterday I was feeling a rather sharp sting every time I blinked. Also, today I'm feeling awake and reasonably functional.
However, my vision in my left eye is blurry with some double vision and weird artifacts moving around the vision of the outside corner. Visual acuity is about equivalent to my right eye without glasses (-10 diopters or so), only more annonying.
I'm seeing the ophthalmic surgeon this afternoon, where I expect he will tell me things are perfectly normal for this stage of recovery.
I sure hope so.

Date: 2010-02-24 05:05 pm (UTC)They keep telling me that most people are happier after cataract surgery, leaving out weird circumstances like mine where I used to have a perfectly good lens until science mucked with it. (Granted, without that mucking I might be blind, but I can still kvetch.)

Date: 2010-02-24 08:28 pm (UTC)I didn't know that your problem was the result of previous surgery. That's a shame. Mine is just a gradually worsening age-related cataract. The fuzziness has reached the stage where I think it's time to think about having the surgery.
