Melting

Inside the house, it's 84 degrees fondly Fahrenheit. Outside, it's 10 degrees warmer, so this is an improvement. Also, there's an essentially unlimited supply of ice water. But this is May; these temperatures are unnatural, and trouble will come of it.

The air conditioning repair guy is coming tomorrow afternoon -- minimum charge $99, because the 5-year warranty expired last September.

I am such a wimp.

Also, I feel as if I've had a temporary stroke, because I had work for a crown done today, and the anesthetic is nowhere near wearing off -- the procedure went overtime, and I needed another dose when the dentist was close to done. (I am a wimp, redux.) Any type of speech that requires my lips to press together deforms my face in a manner that I'm attempting to consider fascinating.

Have you been changing the filter in your central AC annually? It's kind of a joke to say that it's a problem, but when my folks moved into a rental unit in Ottawa where the filter hadn't been changed for years, if ever, that $5 maintenance improved its performance enormously.

Even better, if it's seriously clogged you might be able to see that fact and be able to proceed without expert advice.

"attempting to find fascinating" Very nice. Sounds frustrating, though.
