Wondering at the end of the TV year
Is there some overall way to find out which TV shows have been cancelled and which ones renewed? I suppose I could always ask
laurel, but it seems unfair to bug her. I just saw a preview for Las Vegas that implied Josh Duhamel (Danny) was leaving the show, with the character called back to active duty. Actually, since it said "last farewell," it did more than imply. I'm not sure the show could survive without Josh Duhamel, so I'm wondering if they know they're being cancelled, or if he is indeed leaving and the show's going on. Or, of course, if it's all some fakeout.
I didn't find out about Century City being cancelled until I realized I hadn't seen it for a few weeks. I was just getting into the swing of the show. Four episodes is too damn soon to cancel a show.
And what about Without a Trace? The lead character just agreed to move to another city to follow his wife who just got a big promotion. Is this the end of that show, or is it going to lose Anthony LaPaglia and go on? Or is it just a fake-out? If this were the 1970s, the wife would be killed (ideally by someone with a grudge against LaPaglia's character) and the grieving husband would have no reason to leave, but I would be outraged if they went for that pat a solution.

This FAQ is the closest thing I've found to a status page and I think they get some things wrong. They try, though.
The upfronts are next week, wherein the various networks announce their fall schedules for next year. I'll be reporting on that each day as the stuff is announced. And as part of that, I usually list the shows that won't be returning.
I can tell you Without A Trace will be back and I'm pretty sure Anthony LaPaglia isn't going anyplace any time soon. Dunno what they're up to there.
Hardly anyone knew Century City was on, so there wasn't much fanfare when it was cancelled. Dangit. CBS pulled it from their schedule after just four episodes, I think.
Las Vegas will be back next season, I haven't heard anything about Josh Duhamel leaving so I doubt he really is, but it could be I missed something somehow.
