Damned LJ posting software

Did you know that if you click the Escape button when you're typing an LJ post, it deletes it? And if there's any way to get it back, even though Autosave is on, I haven't found it?

And that I just lost an entire long message?

No, I don't want to use Semagic or some other client. I just want this to work properly.

Bernadette discovered that when she let one of our rats play on her desk while she was posting. She wound up covering the Escape key with a large bottle cap.

When I type a long missive in LJ (or other places), I reflexively flick Cmd-A and Cmd-C fairly often.. Not unlike a collating rack, it has saved my life many a-time.

Is the Escape button on the LJ web site or on your keyboard?

On the keyboard. There is no Escape button that I know of on the LJ website.

But if it there were, where would it take you?

I could see it being useful on Facebook: "FB sucks! Get me out of here!"
