Still no power

I was awoken around 7 this morning by a beep. I hoped it was a power-back beep, but it was the alarm system complaining about having been deprived of power for too long. I got up from my nice warm bed to discover the temp in the house is down to 60 degrees. No wonder the cats were happy to snuggle. I gathered up the partly-thawed lamb from the downstairs freezer and put it in the [livejournal.com profile] minnehahas' freezer. Xcel says most households should have power back by the end of the day. I just hope I'm in that "most."

In the meantime, I'm at Caribou, drinking their coffee and using their wireless. In a while I'll head over to a local bar to watch the Vikings game.

If power isn't back by the time that's over, I'll have to start worrying about contingency plans for tomorrow. Frozen pipes, and outsourcing the cats, and similar scary stuff.

One more night?

Xcel's phone recording now says that power will be restored to most of the Twin Cities outages by end of day Monday -- this morning it said EOD Sunday.

Current temperature in the house is 58 degrees. Given that, and that tonight's low temp is supposed to be 28 -- just below freezing -- do I need to worry about frozen pipes yet?

(back at Caribou after watching the Vikings lose to the Bears. I now owe my mother $5.)

Lights, lights, lights!

I have power and heat again.

And Internet.
