Still no power. After my first no-power post, I called Pat WINOLJ to ask her to be an emergency holographic backup site for the Romance Exchange, and she was willing. When there was still no power at 11:15, I decided it was time to commit, and called Pat back.
After one stop to pick up bread and some other last-minute stuff, and another to let Maggie the Bad Cat back into her house, I headed over to Pat's. She thought I'd cut the time awfully close, and I realized she was still on Daylight Saving. I actually got everything I wanted done in good time, and we had some time to hang out before people arrived.
Tea was owed much more to Trader Joe's stock than my own efforts, despite my good intentions. I did make stuffed mushrooms (stuffed with sauteed chopped stems, crabmeat, goat Gouda, and garlic, plus some of the olive oil I used to sauté the stems), but the goat cheese swirls and mushroom-and-wine tarts were from TJs. There was plenty of food, though, and the company was splendiferous.

minnehaha's to feed cats. I'm hanging out there now to recharge the iPad and check my e-mail, but eventually I'll have to go home to my cold, dark house. If the power is still out tomorrow morning, I'll have to figure out what to do with the contents of the freezer.
