Yuletide story is posted!

Just in time, because I'm going out of town.

I may still tweak things a bit, but I don't have to panic anymore. No defaulting this year.

It occurs to me that because I'll have such limited Internet access once I'm on the cruise, I won't be able to read most of the Yuletide stories once the archive goes live. Even if I pay for access, it'll be by time, not bytes downloaded. I'll try to get to my own gift story, though, so as not to leave whoever wrote my story hanging.

Everything else will probably have to wait until I get back.

ETA: Gift stories, not story! I just thought to look, and there are two mystery works waiting for me!

There's an "I'll be away!" thread somewhere in the Yuletide LJ for people who won't be around (so your writer won't worry that you hated it).

And, yaaaaaay for stories waiting!

Are you talking about http://fanlore.org/wiki/Yuletide ? I finally put it to a search engine, because my interest and curiosity has been increasing each of the last several Decembers as I've read your annual posts about it.

There's Yuletide and Yuletide-admin communities on LJ, so a lot of the Yuletide action takes place here. But the actual Yuletide stories are posted on Archive of Our Own (AO3).

Right, so now I'm starting to form alarming thoughts about requesting Mary Renault fanfic. Oh dear me.

There are always some Renault stories, so there's a good chance you'd match on that. You have to request more than one fandom, but there are several Renault ones...

Of course, then you have to think about what fandoms you're willing to offer.

You have another nine months or so until next year's challenge, so plenty of time to consider.

Hmm, Delany, Butler, Egan, Sayers, O'Brian, Chiang. I guess I could even offer Orphan Black fandom at this point. There are so many.
