Well, that was stupid

I'm going to Chicago this weekend for a couple of family events and a trip to Six Flags Great America. I made my reservations a few weeks ago, online. I've been making reservations online for years. I know how to do this.

Today, I went to check in online, and got a "the reservation is too far in the future" message. I checked the reservation more closely.

Somehow, I had made a reservation for Chicago to Minneapolis instead of Minneapolis to Chicago. Duh. I called Northwest and was able to get the change made, but at the cost of $100 change fee plus $70 difference in flight cost -- just about doubling the cost of the original flight.

I suppose it's more of an expense than a problem, but I hate doing anything that idiotic. I've managed to switch arrival and departure times more than once (I think it's American's online interface that leaves me particularly prone to that), but this is the first time I've committed this particular stupidity.

Yeah, doncha hate that? Wednesday night I was filling my gas tank and hit the wrong button on the gas pump, thus charging myself $3.08/gallon rather than the already astonishing $2.99. I hope my car appreciated the extra octane.
