My goodness, what a lovely thought! I wish we lived in the same state so I could stop by! :) I remember dressing up and ringing the gregors during the reading of the Book of Esther before the Purim carnival when I was a kid, but observing the holiday seems to have waned in my adulthood, possibly because it's such a party holiday, and a party is harder to have on your own.
I remember being struck with envy when I found out what huge shindig they have at Brandeis University for Purim every year. Everyone goes to listen to the Book of Esther at the start of the festivities, but instead of ringing gregors, all the students do shots every time the Rabbi says "Haman." Now that's a Purim party. {g}
