Did an EMP mine go off when I wasn't looking?

My land line phone went out around 10:30, taking my DSL access with it. My iPad didn't connect to the Internet at all via AT&T until I called tech support. The tech got me working again but now there are no bars (and of course no house wireless).

And my nice reliable cell phone, the one thing I have left to connect me with the outside world, keeps losing its connection and going to SOS only.

The earliest repair time for the land line is timorrow morning. And of course I have a zillion things piled up that I need access for. I guess I'll go work on some editing that I can do.

I don't know if an EMP mine went off, but my cable internet (ComCast) cut out around that time last night and I couldn't restore it before I went to sleep. It was back again this morning.
