Home improvement, the basement edition

carbonelThe new carpeting in the basement is being installed at this very minute, with remarkable accompanying sound effects. I went with the megacompany that advertises on TV (Empire) partly because the price was a few hundred dollars less, but mostly because they could give next-day installation and I liked their assurances -- they move all the furniture and put it back, and they offer a lifetime guarantee.
Also, I'm still in shock because the price was about twice what I had thought it would be. It's more than twice the price of the carpeting for my bedroom, and it's not twice the area -- nor is it premium-type carpeting.
On the other hand, the carpet sample looked very nice, and it'll be a major improvement over yucky brown carpet -- especially yucky brown carpet with cat pee.
