Question for VVC attendees

This is my first VVC, and I'm wondering: Do people usually arrive on Thursday afternoon? Or if not then, when?

(Time to make plane reservations...)

I don't go anymore but we always booked Thursday to Monday. Some people would even arrive on Wednesday.

Yes, many people -- possibly most, but it's not as though I've ever counted -- arrive on Thursday afternoon or evening. If you look at the schedule (http://www.vividcon.com/schedule2010.shtml), you'll see that things start quite early on Friday! Thursday evening has early registration a welcome-to-the-con meeting, and a ton of happy hugging and talking and hanging out.

Of course, some people come in on Wednesday, and some can't arrive until after work on Friday. But if you can, you will definitely want to be there by Thursday dinnertime, I think.
