I really like living within walking distance of a good fireworks display. The Richfield fireworks are always nice, and I think they outdid themselves this year. Twenty minutes of practically nonstop fireworks, with an impressive startup and finale.
I don't know how the current Richfield budget compares with what was spent in Morton Grove in the 1960s, but I suspect the technology has improved a great deal in the meantime. Lots more colors, and more multicolored fireworks. And not as many of the ones that make a loud noise and a white flash, and nothing else. I always hated those when I was a kid.
It's going to be a noisy night tonight, though.
And did you go watch fireworks? How were they where you were?
