Not nesting
Jan. 11th, 2008 11:38 amDespite what
lydy says. I am living rooming, but I am not nesting.
On Wednesday, the excellent
davidschroth went with me to HOM Furniture to pick up my rug. He did all the heavy lifting and provided the car; I just opened doors for him.
Yesterday, I called Stanley Steemer and arranged to have my carpet cleaned. Also yesterday, the chimney sweep (Scott Bovy, for anyone who needs a sweep) came and cleaned my chimney and installed a new cap -- he said the old one was the wrong size.
Today, three guys from Stanley Steemer came and cleaned the carpet and the rug from HOM -- it had been a floor model. The rug looks great. I'm so happy I bought it. It's going to be the unifying object in the room, I think. (I hope.) The carpet, on the other hand, looks...brown. Just like it did before. I am so not a fan of brown. However, it is cleaned, deodorized, and protected, so that should last until the carpet is replaced, which will happen only when Gandalf is gone. I'd rather have have Gandalf than a new carpet.
And Sunday, Matt and Kelly Strait should be taking away the old couches.
Now I can call Slumberland and tell them they can deliver the new furniture whenever it's ready.
