Bored, bored, bored
Jul. 19th, 2008 10:23 amI suppose it's the inevitable concomitant of feeling better. Aside from mostly not being able to see out of my left eye (it's like looking thought a set of goggles with a half-inch of water -- sloshing and all) and needed sleeping pills to sleep in the unnatural position, I'm mostly feeling recovered. But with no substantive reading allowed and the need to keep my head down, I'm pretty much limited to books on tape and video. I have a double-type mirror that works like a periscope to let me watch TV with my head in the proper position, though it gets tiring after a while.
Last night I watched the Cubs lose. Tuesday I watched the National League lose in 15 innings. It hasn't been a great baseball week for a Cubs or NL fan. But there's always the next game. So far, at least.
Any recommendations for things to watch on YouTube? I can't read much, but video/TV is permitted. I've seen the Discovery Channel song and the Ukelele Orchestra of Britain, but other short-attention-span stuff would be welcome.
I see the doctor again on Wednesday, and hope to get the all-clear then. Four more days, and counting.
(I should mention that my parents have been great about feeding and indulging me, but there's only so much they can do.)
