Why is it that when the off-air antenna is plugged directly into the television, I get an amazingly clear picture, but when I plug the antenna into my HR10 (HD TiVo), it keeps breaking up and saying "searching for signal"?

Unless I can figure out what I'm doing wrong, I guess my best hope is to get that waiver from DirecTV for national channels.
