Not sure how those happened

On the less-than-wonderful side of things:
1. I went to plug my phone back in, and there's no place to plug. Best I can tell, the entire phone jack got mudded over so well that it completely disappeared, and will either have to be excavated or reinstalled if I want phone service in my living room.
2. While the work was going on, I'd left my DVR sitting on the mantelpiece, plugged in, so that it would pick up at least the most recent of my shows while I was unable to watch my TV. When I picked it up to connect it back up, it was cold. Bad sign. Sure enough, it was off, though it appeared to be plugged in. I unplugged it and tried to replug it -- whereupon the part that the plug goes into retreated into the bowels of the DVR, and commenced to rattle around. DirecTV is sending me a new unit, which should arrive in three days, but everything accumulated on the old unit can now be considered toast, including the recording of
minnehahaB on 60 Minutes, which I'd marked for non-deletion. And I'm going to have to reset all my season passes and wishlists.
On the plus side, once I get some of the electronics hooked up again, I'll be able to watch DVDs on the television instead of at the computer.

Date: 2009-02-11 04:15 am (UTC)With the DirecTV DVR? Damfino. And it isn't really worth the hassle. There's nothing there I'm agonizing over; I'm just annoyed at the loss.
And there's no way to transfer all the settings, which is the biggest pain.
