When I try to buy a paid account, it tells me "The username that you entered is invalid or does not exist." Except that it hasn't asked me for a username, just an address to mail the account creation code to.

Anyone have a spare invite code?

ETA: The bug seems to have been fixed, and I'm now "carbonel" on DW as well as here.

Bug, in this case - they just stuck a note in the DW News post re: account sales

(It looks like it went through for me - or at least, no errors, so it's not a bug eating everyone.)

The bug appears to eat people who didn't already have accounts, which is why you were okay. The more annoying (to me) bug was the one where PayPal wouldn't take a card without creating an account; I've cut a check, since I did that before I saw their update (and tomorrow's sale starts right at the scheduled departure time of my flight to Penguicon).

I already have, or at least I am effectively in the middle of doing so; I've completed the transaction to the point at which DW asks me to mail them a check, and I've instructed my bank to do so. They'll probably see the check late next week.
