PSA: No more RSS via LJ

According to morgandawn, LJ has stopped updating RSS feeds. Which majorly sucks rocks.

This is really frustrating for me, since a good chunk of my LJ is RSS feeds, and I don't know how to make things work the way normal people do. I guess I'll have to figure it out, though.

Meanwhile, the Newsgator shutdown continues to be delayed because the new versions of NetNewsWire (my RSS reader of choice on the Mac and iPhone) aren't quite there. (The current ones sync with Newsgator; the new ones will sync with Google Reader. I've already moved my subscriptions, though.)

What platform(s) are you using? I recommend NNW for Mac/iPhone, and I've been pretty happy with FeedDemon on Windows when I have to use Windows. I haven't used the web-based Google Reader interface enough to know how I feel about it yet.

You might try FeedDemon then; it's free IIRC.

The RSS feeds not updating is listed as a known issue on the support page (http://www.livejournal.com/support/), and they say they're investigating. So not an intentional change.

Heh -- since I noticed this failure right when Dreamwidth put in reading filters, and most of my techie filter is feeds, I just moved 'em all over there! Pfft to LJ.
