Happy birthday! I always think of it as being on Columbus Day proper rather than just nearby.

Thanks! I wonder if I'm supposed to be having today off, this being both actual and celebrated Columbus day this year. I don't think it's a company holiday, though I always appreciated working at companies that did give a holiday for a day on or near my birthday.

Well, since the land was actually *sighted* on October 11, and they simply made landfall the next day, it really OUGHT to be a holiday on the 11th, if you ask me!
