They took off for the long weekend BEFORE deploying all the orange cones in the highway department inventory onto the highway?? That's new.

Our count, from Minneapolis to Chicago, was three deceased deer and fifteen very alive and active State Troopers.

On the way back, it was six deceased deer, and less than five State Troopers. Although we left I-94 because of some event involving State Troopers (that we didn't see), fire trucks, and an ambulance...

On the way back, the deceased deer count was also four, of which three were on the left side of the road, all three within a two-mile stretch.

We were about to leave 94 (after an hour's delay with no exit and no clue what was going on) when we saw the lights of the accident ahead. And indeed, shortly after that, things cleared up.

A few miles later, there was a really nasty accident on the other side of the road. And then it was clear sailing all the way.

I didn't keep a State Trooper count, though.
