I just discovered a puddle in the kitchen -- there's a drip from the roof. It's ongoing.

I put a bucket under the drip. I don't have a ladder. Even if I did, I'm really not sure what I'd do with it.

Any idea who I should call or what I should do?

ETA: I called Ed Cooper, and he called his roofing guy (Jim Storm), and Jim is coming over tomorrow morning. The dripping has stopped, at least for the nonce.

Yes. Call a roofer, or failing that, call a handyman who can put a tarp over the part of the roof that is leaking (that is, on the outside of the roof).

If you can get into your attic, put a bucket under the drip up there to minimize damage to the ceiling.

Call Ed Cooper, he knows a roof guy who came over here and patched ours with tar to get us through the winter.

Louie and I, with the identical problem, located a company called Walker Roofing. They have been in business since 1938 and the owner (her name is Stacy) is 2nd generation. Stacy herself did not come down to shovel snow off our roof (and I am not completely sure what the workmen who are coming by this afternoon intend to do) but we had good results from her two guys who came down. You may want to call Louie and discuss it, as she is far more practical than I am and handled the arrangements.
