The electricity just went out in the thunderstorm. Pretty impressive out there.
ETA: And they're back. That was quick.

Date: 2011-05-22 06:53 pm (UTC)I'm five blocks from Minneapolis proper, so the only real divider would be anything that goes by municipal boundaries.
Even in Minneapolis, though, Things Happen. About 12 years ago (when I lived in your neighborhood), the power went out in a summer thunderstorm, and there were downed lines in my backyard. Oddly, most of the power in the house was out, but the kitchen outlets were working. Greg lent me a heavy-duty power cord, and I ran everything in the attic (where my bedroom and office were) until everything came back several days later.
And last year, the power went out the morning that I was supposed to host an afternoon tea, and didn't come back until late the following day. (Pat W. WINOLJ was the hero who allowed me to relocate to her place, so we had tea there instead.)
So I'm a little wary of such things. Even in Minneapolis. I'm very glad it was just a minor hitch this time.
