carbonel: Hang in cat (hang in cat)

If one happened to have a pile of clothing on the floor, and one discovered belatedly that cat or cats had peed on it and the pee had dried, is there anything that will remove the stain? The enzyme stuff will remove the smell, but if it's permanently discolored, there's a bunch of stuff that's going to be a dead loss.

Mostly in cotton clothing, but some rayon and (alas) silk.

The cats are hissing at each other right now; I'm starting to think I may have to find a new home for one of them. They're great individually, and they get along half the time, but the other half is a problem that isn't going away.

The best bet is a rather expensive product called 'Urine Off'. This is extremely effective at removing both the smell and the lingering stains. You spray it on, soak the area, leave it for several hours until both the stain and the smell are gone, then wash.

There are several other products that do much the same thing, and some are cheaper - but I do know this one works, unless the the animals have been peeing there forever, in which case the only solution is to throw stuff out.

Edit. Suddenly realised I missed out rinsing in cold water at the end of the soak, just so nothing reacts badly with the washing powder.
