this is going on forever

Rick the floor guy is in over his head, I think, working with all the wall trim. We're using finished baseboard in oak not only for the baseboard (where it looks great) but for the door and window edging.

One of the doorways just wasn't working with the edging the way it normally goes (thin side toward the door, thick side facing out) and I suggested flipping it the other way. Which works for that. So now we're doing all the edging that way. I don't know if everyone's going to think it looks dorky, though. And there's a section between two windows (seven inches or so) where he can't figure out what to put between them. What it really needs is some finished oak, but I don't know if you can buy that anywhere.

Damn it. Rick just called me to answer something about the alarm system wiring. I told him I didn't know and I could have the alarm company in to fix it, but I couldn't answer him. He wants to finish all the edging today. He's stressed, I'm stressed.

And I feel guilty for feeling so miserable when so many people have real problems.

I just want it to be over.
