One of life's little mysteries
Jul. 25th, 2009 01:37 pmToday I decided to go through all the unlabeled CDs and DVDs sitting around my desk. Most of them were .avi files of various TV show episodes, and I kept or tossed accordingly.
But one was a music CD, though it was clearly burned from a computer, because none of the tracks had names -- just "Track 1," "Track 2," etc. Originally I thought it was Steeleye Span, but I couldn't identify the album, if it was. Eventually, mostly via Googling on lyrics, I figured out that it was Chumbawamba's English Rebel Songs 1381–1984 minus two of the songs, and with "Cutty Wren" split into two parts.
In addition to the Chumbawamba songs, there was one song I couldn't identify (though it seemed related to "Tubthumping"), two Bangles songs, one Ramones song, and two different versions of "Bohemian Rhapsody" -- the standard Queen version and an instrumental version that was performed live.
Does anyone remember giving me such a CD? If so, I apologize for taking so long to listen to it -- the Chumbawamba portion was just my sort of thing.
Is a puzzlement.
