Well, yesterday wasn't too productive in terms of Romance Exchange preparations (too much parkin angst), but I made up for it today. Today I was mighty.

I have:

Set the table (and, alas, broke a saucer -- and ordered a replacement over the Web; saucers are much less expensive than teacups, it seems)
Made oatmeal bread
Made flourless chocolate cake
Cooked chicken thighs, chopped them up, and made chicken curry sandwich filling
Made gingered crab filling for filo dough cups
And I cleaned up the kitchen

Tomorrow I need to:

Do final clean-up
Make scones
Put sandwiches together
Cut up vegetables
Put everything in dishes and on the table

And then wait for people to arrive, make tea, and serve it forth.

Please enlighten the unenlightened: what is a "Romance Exchange"?

Ah. Much becomes clear now. [livejournal.com profile] 1crowdedhour has told me for many years about hosting and attending teas, but has never referred to it as a Romance Exchange, thus my confusion, though I wondered if they were connected.

Ditto on the scary factor -- our Local Gang, the Media Cannibals, have been getting together using the Rotating Host Scheme (still once a month) since 1992. Have fun!

I hate to bug you on your personal LJ, but for some reason I'm banned from commenting in the cross_stitch community. Anyway, I really like that Barbara Lavallee pattern you finished and was wondering if you'd be interested in selling it?
