Survived surgery

That's the good news. The bad news is that the eye surgeon doesn't want me reading books.

My eye feels like someone poked it with a sharp stick, but the drugs take the edge off.

Having "no books" come as a last-minute surprise is particularly icky. People need to make plans for this sort of recovery, and they should know the rules when they do so.
