The new router arrived (with built-in wireless capability, which means my previous wireless router has now become surplus), and after a quick call to Visi.com to configure it, I'm up and running at full speed again.
My experience is that signal strength on the first and third floors is spotty - sometimes it's good, sometimes it just goes away. Since multiple laptops have experienced this, I assume it's an issue with the wireless router rather than mizzlaurajean's laptop.
Additionally, mizzlaurajean is unhappy with the router because it requires rebooting much more frequently than the old wireless router did.
